The funeral for Wilbert Arthur Wanner, Fargo, North Dakota formerly of Wishek, ND will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 PM to 7:30 Pm with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Wilbert Arthur Wanner son of Karl D. and Lydia (Heupel) Wanner was born October 25, 1933 on the family farm seventeen miles northwest of Lehr, ND in Logan County. He grew up and attended rural school in the Lehr, ND area. Wilbert was united in marriage to Bernice Brandner on October 28, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Burnstad, ND. They lived with Bernice's parents for the first couple of years in Zeeland, ND. In 1960 they moved to a farm eleven miles north of Wishek, ND. They worked hard raising beef cows, milking dairy cattle and also producing small grains. They lived there until 1996 when they moved into Wishek, ND and in November of 2014 moved to Fargo, ND. Wilbert enjoyed playing pool, bowling, dancing and playing cards until late into the night. Wilbert and Bernice were blessed with six children and five grandchildren.

Wilbert died Monday, June 8, 2015 at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND. He was 81 years old.

Wilbert is survived by his wife, Bernice, Fargo, ND, two daughters, Susan Wiemer, Fargo, ND and Lanette (Brian) Weber, Horace, ND; three sons, Kevin Wanner, West Fargo, ND, Chad (friend Mary Wald) Wanner, Wishek, ND, Sheldon Wanner, Wishek, ND; four grandchildren, Jesse Wiemer, Misty Wiemer, Breanna Weber and Amber Wanner; three brothers, Clarence (MaryAnn) Wanner, Rochester, MN, Leo Wanner, Jamestown, ND, Earl Wanner, Rochester, MN; three sisters, Irene (Alvin) Boschee, Sacramento, CA, Alice (Art) Ketterlng, Wishek, ND, Marlene Thurn, Arlington, MN; one brother-in-law, Gary Huber, Bismarck, ND; one sister-in-law, Alice Meidinger, Zeeland, ND. Wilbert was preceded in death by one son, Bradley Wanner, grandson, Bradley Leonard Wiemer, parents, Karl D. and Lydia Wanner, brothers, Harvey and Allen, sisters, Priscilla and Carol, brothers-in-law, Edgar Thurn and Otto Meidinger.
