On June 18, 2020, Heaven welcomed a beautiful woman, Vivian Annette Elnora Beckstrom, into its arms. Vivian was born on December 8, 1928 to Gust and Annie (Bergeson) Erickson. She almost didn't make it on that day until the doctor decided to work on her and she was vigorously resuscitated. Thank you Lord for saving her.
Vivian gave her heart to Jesus at the age of 5; she never swayed from serving him. She devoted her life to Jesus till her last breath.
She was raised on a farm northwest of Kulm in Janke Township. Vivian married Leslie Carlson on December 10, 1946 at the Pentecostal Tabernacle north of Kulm, in Swede Township.
After Leslie passed in 1995, she married Melvin Beckstrom (Leslie's cousin) on July 3, 1995. Vivian then moved to Milwaukee Oregon to live with Melvin. After Melvin passed, she moved to her hometown Kulm in May of 2012.
Vivian loved to serve people and entertain. She always offered a cup of coffee to everyone who stopped by. In her last years she just couldn't do that like she wanted. In the last few months of her life she started calling old friends and family just to give them some encouragement. Her heart for service was evident to the end.
Vivian passed away peacefully with Joan holding her hand. One of her last requests was "I want some coffee", just like a true Swede. She is now in the arms of Jesus where she had longed to be.
Vivian is survived by three daughters, Joan Carlson Presler, Kulm, ND, Jane Carlson Killpatrick, Tacoma, WA, Debbie (Jet) Truman, Valley Center, KS; two sister and one brother, Judy (Hugo) Janke, Kulm, ND, Sandi (Jim) Pruse, Champlin, MN, Ernest (Carol) Erickson, Kulm, ND; four grandchildren, Cory (Michelle) Morrow, Norcross, MN, Nathan (Shelia) Easterby, Wichita, KS, Tallee J.
