The funeral for Virginia Fischer, Napoleon, ND will be Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a family gathering at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at the Napoleon City Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.


Virginia Uglem, daughter of Calmer and Clara (Johnson) Uglem was born December 21, 1934 at Bismarck, ND. She grew up and attended school at Steele, ND. After her graduation she attended Valley City State College where she earned her Teaching Certificate. Virginia was united in marriage to Jim Fischer on December 16, 1957 at Steele, ND. They made their home at Steele and Virginia taught at a country school in the area. In the mid 60's they moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked at a nursing home. In 1976 they moved to Napoleon, ND where she was employed with Logan County Social Services from 1977 to 1988. Virginia was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and served as church organist for many years. Virginia taught piano and organ lessons for many years. She was well known for her love of the arts.

Virginia died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Medcenter One at Bismarck, ND. She was 75 years old.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Jim Fischer, Napoleon, ND; one daughter, Judy Robinette, Napoleon, ND; two sons, Jerry (Deb) Fischer, Bondurant, IA; Robert (Brenda) Fischer, Napoleon, ND; seven grandchildren, Charity Robinette, James Robinette, Megan Fischer, Kaitlin Fischer, Tanner Fischer, Karla Bitz, Kevin Bitz; one great grandson, Jayden Luciano and one son-in-law, Sebastian Bitz.
