Virginia Fettig, 82, of Napoleon, ND, passed away April 27, 2023 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Napoleon. Virginia was born April 9, 1941 in Linton, ND to Peter and Margaret (Bitz) Marquart, the oldest of 10 children. She attended rural school and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1959. She began working with Wentz Clothing and Wurl's Café . She went on to work as Deputy Auditor for Logan County for 18 years and bartending at the local bars in Napoleon for about 32 years. Virginia also did painting and cleaning for numerous people throughout the years. Virginia married Baltzer Fettig on June 18, 1963 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Together they lived in Napoleon where they raised their children.

Virginia enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and dancing the polka, she once danced 25 polkas in a row at one dance. She enjoyed being in the 1984 Napoleon Centennial Hee Haw show, playing the part of Ida Lee. A lady of great faith, she taught Sunday School, was president of the Christian Mothers Alter Society for eight years and had a daily routine of reading in her prayer book and praying three rosaries. Her biggest pride and joy in life was her two grandchildren Ellie and Thomas Givan, who she loved to the moon and back.

She is near and dear to her children, Paula Fettig, Napoleon, Billy Fettig, Mobridge, SD and Pam (David) Givan and their children Ellie and Thomas, Bismarck. She also leaves behind sisters, Florence Hilzendeger, Lillian Steiner (Tom Wold) and Mary Jo Neigum; brothers, John Marquart (Leslie Moch), Steve (Mary) Marquart and Vince (Kristine) Marquart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Baltzer in 1993; sister, Angeline Marquart; brothers, James and Robert Marquart; in-laws, Andrew (Rosa) Fettig, Joe (Maggie) Weigel, Frank (Ann) Fettig, Joe Hilzendeger, Tim Steiner, Jake Neigum and Theresa Marquart, nephews, Joe Fettig and Frank Fettig Jr.
