Violet June Diegel, 94, of Wishek, slipped peacefully into heaven on Sunday morning, January 11, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Violet was born on April 4, 1931, in McIntosh County to John and Christine (Werre) Eiseman. She grew up on the prairie, attending a nearby rural school for her early education. Later in life, with her characteristic determination, she proudly earned her GED—an accomplishment she cherished. She enjoyed her work at Herr Mercantile, where she formed friendships and took pride in doing things well.

On November 13, 1949, Violet married the love of her life, Waldemar Diegel, in Burnstad. Together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and devotion to family. Their farm northwest of Wishek was the heart of their world for many years. There they raised their two daughters, Nancy and Sheila, milked cows, tended animals, and worked the fields side by side. In 1995, they moved into Wishek, carrying with them the memories and rhythms of farm life.

Violet and Waldemar were faithful members of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where Violet served on the altar society and participated in church circle. Their shared love of community extended to the Diamond Square Dancers, where they enjoyed fellowship and fun. Violet later worked in the laundry department at the Wishek Nursing Home, where her warm smile and gentle conversations brightened the days of residents and staff alike.

Violet's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Fettig of Bismarck, ND, and Sheila (Lyle) Sather of Kirksville, Missouri; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Daniel) Anderson, Colette Scheall, Dion (Kari) Bitz, and Shane (Jennifer) Rohweder. She was blessed with nine great‑grandchildren—Kellan Barry, Kaden Anderson, Keaton Anderson, Beau Bitz, Bailey Bitz, Kailyn Hushagen, Korbin Rohweder, Kash Rohweder, and Kloee Rohweder. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Eiseman, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and godchildren, including a special friend, Carmen Rath‑Wald.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 60 years, Waldemar; her son‑in‑law, Sebastian Fettig; her sisters, Irene Kessinger and Verna Sayler; her brother Walter Eiseman; her brother‑in‑law, Edward Sayler; and seven sisters‑in‑law and three brothers‑in‑law on Waldemar's side.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Violet will be laid to rest beside Waldemar at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery in Wishek, reunited with the partner who shared her life's journey.
