The funeral for Viola M. Ost, Fargo, ND formerly of Lehr, ND will be Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Martin Luther Lutheran Cemetery, Fredonia, ND.

Viola M. Roloff was born May 18, 1928 in Fredonia, ND, the daughter of John and Fredericka (Hettich) Roloff. She received her elementary education in Fredonia and graduated from Kulm High School in 1946. Before her marriage she was employed at the Fredonia Coop Store, Economy Store and the post office in Fredonia. Viola married Oscar H. Ost on March 25, 1949 at her parents' home in Fredonia, ND. They made their home on the Ost family farm between Lehr and Fredonia until moving to Fargo in the fall of 2011. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Lehr, ND. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and feeding whoever was hungry with her wonderful German dishes.

Viola M. Ost, 84, Fredonia, ND died Wednesday evening August 8, 2012 in the loving care of Dale and Meredith Johnson, Johnson Eldercare Home in Fargo, ND under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Oscar, Fargo, ND; 1 son, Dale Ost, Brasilia, Brazil, SA; and 1 daughter, Doris (Boyd) Palmer, Fargo, ND; 3 grandchildren Bruno Ost, Sacramento, CA; Sabrina (Cesear Castro) Ost, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, SA; LeeAnn Palmer, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law, Viola Ost, Ellendale, ND and Edna Koenig, Lawrence, KS; brother-in-law, Wilbert Gutschmidt, Gackle, ND, and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
