Verna Sayler, 89, of Wishek, ND, passed away June 30, 2022 at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Faith Community Church, Wishek.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Verna (Eiseman) Sayler was born in Wishek, ND on August 23, 1932, the daughter of John and Christine (Werre) Eiseman on the family farmstead near Wishek, ND.  Verna attended rural school before attending Wishek Public School graduating in 1951.  She attended Ellendale College where she received a certificate in Teaching.  She spent a short time teaching in a rural school near Wishek.  She also worked at Security State Bank.  On February 13, 1955, Verna married the love of her life Edward Sayler at St. Johns Congregational Church.  They purchased Sayler Hardware and together they ran the family business until they retired in 1987.  She was also active in the Video business with sons John and Keith.

Verna successfully balanced her time in the business with taking care of the family.  In addition, she was an ambassador at the Wishek Living Center, active in church and loved singing in the choir.  Verna was an avid card player.  She frequently played Bridge with friends and after every meal there was always a few games of cards with our dad.  Verna shared her love of games and cards with her children and her grandchildren.  She passed along some of her competitive nature to each generation which grew into years of fun and laughter during family gatherings.  Verna enjoyed hosting extended family during the holidays and often showed her love by cooking and baking everyone's favorites.

Verna died Thursday, June 30 ^th at the Wishek Living Center with family by her side and wonderful staff who took care of her in her final days and treated her with tender loving care.

Verna is survived by four sons, John (Karla), Bismarck ND, Tim (Lori) Detroit Lakes, MN, Keith (Shelli), Wishek, ND, Mark, Aberdeen, SD and daughter Michelle (Dean) Bushee, Bismarck, ND; 16 grandchildren, Five great-grandchildren, sister, Violet Diegel, Wishek ND and brother, Walter (Marilyn) Eiseman Bismarck, ND along with many other cherished family members.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents, and her sister Irene Kessinger.
