The funeral for Verna Grace Klein, Wishek, North Dakota will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the United Church of Christ, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 from noon to 7:00 PM. Burial will be at the Wishek City Cemetery.

Verna Schauer daughter of Phillip and Amelia (Trautman) Schauer was born January 25, 1923 rural Wishek, ND, one of fifteen children. She grew up and attended school in the Wishek, ND area. Verna was united in marriage to Harold Klein January 14, 1942 at Lehr, ND. They made their home on the Klein family farm rural Wishek. They later moved into Wishek where Verna first worked as a nurse's aid at the Wishek Community Hospital for over 20 years, she went on to work at the Wishek Living Center for over another 20 years. Verna continued to help at the Wishek Living Center sewing and mending clothing retiring in 1996. She entered the Wishek Living Center on October 8, 2010. Verna was a member of the United Church of Christ and also a member of the ladies aid at the church. She was an active member of the Wishek Senior Citizens. She loved to garden and was very good at raising flowers. Verna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.

Verna died Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. She was 90 years old.

Verna is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Russ) Dohn, Wishek, ND; two sons, Tom Klein, Wishek, ND; Myron Klein, Albuquerque, NM and Guatemala; five grandchildren, Bryan (Debra) Dohn, Stacey (Conor) Shenk, Christina Klein, Jennifer Klein, Francesca Klein; eight great-grandchildren, Alexa Puppo, Sydney Puppo, Erik (Brenda) Dohn, Shanna (Ryan) Corbett, Austin Robinson, Hannah Shepard, Christopher Parker, Liliana Parker; six great great-grandchildren, Camryn Dohn, Eli Dohn, Jed Dohn, McKenna Corbett, Ashley Corbett, Nicholas Corbett. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, one son, Ronald, infant daughter, Linda, parents, 10 brothers and 4 sisters.
