A service to celebrate the life of Verdine Boschee, DDS, will be held Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM the Wishek Civic Center.
Dr. Verdine Boschee (AKA Doc or Dean), 74, passed away on May 13, 2015, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver. His parents were Herman and Ottilia (Ketterling) of Wishek, ND, and he was one of nine living children. He attended school in Wishek and upon graduation went to work in the gold mine in Lead, SD. After working underground for about two years, he decided to further his education and enrolled in Black Hills State Teachers College (now Black Hills University) in Spearfish, SD, and then at Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, to earn his dental degree.
After graduation he married Lois Haack of Milwaukee and returned to Wishek to take care of the dental needs of his home town. He retired in 2007 and moved to Kiowa, CO in 2012.
Dean was a generous man and loved God's world. He loved the freedom of living in the country and found joy in securing and caring for a wide variety of animals. He also ventured into a commercial size hog operation, but was most proud of the Thoroughbred horses he raised and sent to the race track.
Dean is survived by his son, Aaron (Antoinette Johnson) of Littleton, CO, his daughter, Beth of Longmont, CO, and four grandchildren, Leo, Susannah, Ava, and Ruby, all of Littleton. He also leaves to mourn two brothers, Milo (Evelyn Feichtner) of Lakewood, CO, and Roger (Linda) of Wishek, ND, four sisters, Verna (Eddie) Kauk, Pearl (Robert) Meidinger, Marlys (Tom) Schneider, all of Bismarck and Beverly (Jerry) Fischer of Faulkton, SD, two sisters-in-law, Marianne (Emil) of Bismarck and Marilyn (Eugene) of Northfield, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Delila, and brothers Emil and Rev. Eugene Boschee.
