Timothy Lee Piatz, 57, of Napoleon, ND, earned his angel wings on May 26, 2024 at Fairview University of Minnesota Hospital, after suffering a massive heart attack.

Tim was born June 22, 1966 in Ashely, ND to Sam and Ann (Wald) Piatz. Tim attended Napoleon Public School and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1984.

Tim's main goal after graduation was to work side by side with his father on the family dairy and grain farm and eventually take over operations upon his father's retirement. When his father's health forced him into retirement, Tim and his younger brother Nick worked side by side daily on the family farm.

Tim's upbringing trained him to never be afraid of hard work and never be afraid to get his hands dirty, with his gloves on of course! He would work hard to do whatever it took to keep the operation running smoothly. Tim could  often be found in the dairy barn milking the cows, making hay and hauling bales, picking rocks, or tending to his cattle. Even though Tim was a hard worker his favorite spot was in the seat of his tractor. If there was a job to be done with the tractor, Tim always decided he was the one driving.

Tim was a very kind and simple man who never wanted for materialistic things, he just wanted enough to be comfortable and peaceful. He loved his life of  solitude.

Tim was a family man who loved family gatherings and the spectacular food spreads always involved there! Eating was a great passion of Tim's, he had one healthy appetite. But Tim's pride and joy were his nieces and nephews. When any of them  entered the room Tim lit up like a Christmas tree and the teasing would begin. We could never tell who enjoyed it more, Tim or the nieces and nephews. Those gatherings started conversations and Tim loved to visit until the early morning hours. Tim's second greatest joy was all of his pets. He enjoyed the great outdoors and     always stayed outside a while longer to make sure his pets were fed and received an adequate amount of love and attention. When Tim came outside, all of his pets followed very closely behind.

At night, when the work was finished, Tim enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, both of whom he was blessed enough to see in concert and at Heinz Field. During the holiday season, no one could tear Tim away from the Hallmark Channel, he saw every movie ever aired from 10 pm to 3 am! Tim's off the farm activities included bowling on 2 Napoleon City leagues and participating on a dart team. Friends from the St Michael's area asked him to be in their card/pinochle group. He really cherished the many memories and friendships this brought. Tim liked to joy ride just to relax, enjoy the countryside and see God's beauty.

Tim is survived by his loving parents, Sam and Ann Piatz; sisters, Corinne Piatz, Natalie (Dennis) Kraft, Wanda (Bob) Serr and Samantha (Ray) Wetzel; brothers, Cary (Shawna) Piatz and Nick Piatz; nieces, Carly (Matt), Cami (Zack), Cassidy (Dan), Amanda (Clifton), Frankie and Demi jo; nephews, Bailey, Colton, Kendon, Braxton, D'Mias,   Harley and Taylor; great nieces, Emilia, Ceejay and Jaycee; great nephews, Easton and Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Markus and Katherine Wald and parental grandparents, Anton and Francis Piatz; his godmother Alice Doll and his godfather Adam Gross; and numerous uncles aunts and cousins.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to a fund set up at Stock Grower's Bank PO Box 9 Napoleon, ND 58561 C/O Timothy Piatz, to offset his medical bills.
