The funeral for Stella Mehlhaff, Wishek, ND will be Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.


Stella Stading, daughter of Sam and Blondina (Herr) Stading was born December 17, 1926 at Danzig, ND. She grew up and attended rural school in the Danzig area. Stella married Barlow Mehlhaff on October 3, 1953 at Wishek, ND. Stella worked at the Wishek Dry Cleaners, Red Owl, Wishek Steel and the Wishek Home for the Aged until her retirement in the mid 90's. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wishek, ND. Stella enjoyed a big garden every year and canning everything she grew. She also enjoyed fishing year around and their cabin at Green Lake.


Stella died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. She was 84 years old.

Stella is survived by two daughters, Candace (Larry) Bruton, Keller, TX; Annette (Ken) Nickels, Bismarck, ND; three grandchildren, Sara (Kevin) Moltenbrey; Megan and Katie Bruton; two great-grandchildren, Brooks and Hudson Moltenbrey; two brothers, Charles Stading, Lodi, CA; Ben (Linda) Stading, Wishek, ND; five sisters, Lillian Helmer, Wishek, ND; Charlotte (Harry) Rudolph, Denver, Co; Yetta Sheppard, Denver, Co; Corinne Martin, Copperas Cove, TX; Emogene (Vernon) Lautt, Moses Lake, WA.
