The funeral service for Stanley Deile, Wishek, ND, will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 10:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm and a family service at 7:00 pm at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Stanley Deile, son of Jacob and Adeline (Boschee) Deile was born November 2, 1937 on the family farm eight miles west of Wishek. He attended country school until the eighth grade, then Wishek High School, graduating in 1956. Stan worked for seven years at Herr Mercantile. He served in the National Guard for nine years. On June 24, 1962, Stan married Blanche Schuchard, in Wishek. In 1962, Stan and Blanche purchased the Red Owl Store in partnership with Jim and Arlene Klundt. The business was known as Stan and Jim's Red Owl. In 1968, they purchased the Gamble Store in partnership and in 1972, Stan became the sole owner of Stan's Red Owl. In 1979, Stan built a new store along Highway 13 East and in 1989 they became known as Stan's Super Valu. Stan and Blanche were in the grocery business for 42 years. In 2004, Stan and Blanche sold the business to their son, Darren, and Stan continued to work in the store until his retirement in 2016. Stan was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek Lions Club, and the Antique Car Club. He served on the church council for four years. Stan served on the Wishek City Council, Association of Commerce, Sauerkraut Committee for over 40 years, Wishek Fire Department, and Wishek Economic Development Corporation. He was a past member of the Eagles Club, Golf Club, Saddle Club, and Snowmobile Club. Stan enjoyed coyote hunting and deer hunting with his son, Darren, and grandson, Jacob. Stan always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Stanley died January 10, 2018 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. He was 80 years old.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Blanche, Wishek, ND; three sons, Jan (Lisa) Deile, Prior Lake, MN; Kurt (Kerri) Deile, Andover, MN; Darren (Shelly) Deile, Wishek, ND; one daughter, Dorinda (Shannon) Wanner, West Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren, Breanne, Madison, Sam, Jacob, and Abigail Deile, Shaine, Alexis, and Allyson Wanner; one sister, Elaine Dockter, Wishek, ND and one sister-in-law, Werna Deile, Wishek, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, Oscar, brother, Allen, and one sister, Florence Ziegenhagel; two brothers-in-law, Walter Ziegenhagel and Alfred Dockter.
