Sharon Hertel, 78, of Jud, ND, passed away December 23, 2023 at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Kulm, ND. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the church. Burial will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery Jud, ND.
Sharon Kaye Reineke Hertel was born on February 4, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND to William and Olga (Hamre) Reineke. She was raised in the Michigan and Lakota, ND area. Sharon attended beauty school at Town & Country Beauty College in Jamestown, ND. She married Dwayne Anderson in 1963, together they had four children, Kim, Kaye, Kari and Tad. She married Darrel Hertel in 1972, together they had one daughter Misty. They lived in Edgeley, ND from 1971 – 1976and then moved to Jud, ND, where they lived until the present time.
Sharon sold Avon Beauty products for 25 plus years, she also worked at the Jud School and as city auditor as well as the Jud Café. She belonged to the Classy Clucks Homemakers Club in Jud for many years. She enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking and collecting Elvis memorabilia.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 51 years, Darrel Hertel; brother, Gordon (Karen) Reineke; children, Kim Anderson Dallmann, Kaye Anderson Johnson, Kari Anderson Heier, Tad (Krista) Anderson and Misty (Mike) Hertel VanGorkom; grandchildren, Shannon, Danielle, Amanda, Landon, Layton, Layne, Sheena, Brandy, Tory, Taylor, Hunter, Kasady, Destinee, Faith, Alerik, Tim, Jada, Aleah, Clarissa, Darrin, Hannah, Aidan and Brady; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Olga (Hamre) Reinke; brothers, William (Hildegarde) Reineke, Richard (Evie) Reineke and Gerald (Judy) Reineke; and one aunt, Jannette Hamre Moen, who she considered a second mother.
