The memorial service for Sharon Engelhardt, Bismarck, ND formerly of Napoleon, ND will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon, ND at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery in Napoleon, ND.
On Friday, November 27, 2015, Sharon Faye Johnson Engelhardt, 75, joined her husband in the arms of her Heavenly Father. Sharon took her first breath of Heaven after several years of battle with COPD. Sharon was born on December 19, 1939 in Aberdeen, WA and married John P Engelhardt on December 1, 1956 in Timber Lake, SD. Four children and six years later, they settled in Napoleon ND to raise their family and built the legacy that spanned nearly 60 years, while living their lifelong true love story.
Sharon was the oldest of four children born to Roy and Sylvia Johnson. Sharon raised mink and was a majorette in high school, where she met the love of her life, quarterback of the football team. After making their home in Napoleon, Sharon and John owned several businesses. One of those businesses being the REC. A popular pool hall, pinball machine social hangout where you could buy a good hamburger. The REC was open to all ages from teenagers to the older people of the community that came in to play cards. Sharon also owned and operated the Coffee Cup Café. The last and longest business venture was the Korner Bar, where Sharon and John continued using their gifts of hospitality to welcome and serve great food and drinks. Sharon also had a heart to serve and meet the needs of those in her community that she saw needed extra care, by taking them in and caring for them as if they were her own. Las Vegas was a favorite place of Sharon's. Her gift of hospitality also included traveling with or meeting people in Las Vegas and showing them the best shows, and places to see. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Roy and Sylvia; sisters, Karon and Wanda, and a brother, Robert.
Survivors include sons, Jon (Sandy) of Fargo ND; Kyle (Jacinta); daughters, Valerie (Larry) Allee and Deidre (special friend Steve Genter), all of Bismarck ND; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, Kyle C, Alexander, Jordan, Katrina (Kyle); Kandi and Michael Glatt (Valerie); Cody, Tyler, Denver Tergeson (Deidre), and 13 great-grandchildren.
