Russell Dohn, 76, of Wishek, ND, passed away December 2, 2019 at the Wishek Community Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church, Wishek, ND.

Russell Donald Dohn was born in Eureka, SD on April 2, 1943 to Adolf and Elsie (Dollinger) Dohn. Russell attended rural grade school and went on to graduate from Eureka High school in 1960. In 1963 Russell married the love of his life, Sharon Klein at the Congregational Church in Wishek, ND. Over the next 56 years of their life together, Russ and Sharon enjoyed a wide variety of activities including bowling, gardening, and classic car club. Russell was also an avid hunter and sportsman.

In 1968 he became the owner of the local Mobil station and would go on to own and operate multiple businesses including the sale of RVs and camper units, a gas and fuel oil business, and a car wash.  Russell also operated an over-the-road trucking service.

Russell was extremely active in the local community. He was a founding member of the local Jaycees, served as a member on the McIntosh County Water Board, was a city council member for 9 years, and later acted as a director on the Wishek Fire Department Board.

Russell was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elsie and Adolf Dohn, as well as his brother Mark Dohn, his nephew Garrett Dohn, his in-laws, Harold and Verna Klein, and his brother-in-law, Ronald Klein.

Russell is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Dohn, his children, Bryan Dohn (Debra) and Stacey Dohn Shenk (Conor), his grandchildren Shanna Corbett, Erik Dohn (Brenda), Alexa Puppo, Sydney Puppo, and great grandchildren McKenna Corbett, Ashley Corbett, Camryn Dohn, Nickolas Corbett, Eli Dohn, and Jed Dohn.

Russell will be remembered as a generous, loving man who held firm in his convictions, but was always ready with a joke or story. He will be missed dearly by his family, and community.
