On Thursday, March 4, 2021, Rueben Richard Wolf, loving husband, and father of five, passed away at age 88 in the loving presence of his family and the Lord our God. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Kulm Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND at 3:00 PM, Monday, March 8 ^th .  A Livestream of Rueben's funeral service will be available on the Dahlstrom Funeral Service Facebook page.

Rueben was born at home on the farm to John and Esther Wolf near Havelock, ND on January 12, 1933.  One of 12 siblings, he attended country school and farmed with his father until Rueben was drafted into the Army in 1953.   After he was discharged from the Army, Rueben met Darlene Brown, and they were married on August 4, 1956.  Rueben and Darlene were blessed with five children.  In 1969, Rueben followed his love of farming and moved his family to a farm south of Kulm where Rueben farmed, raised his family, and lived for 52 years.

Rueben's life was devoted to God, his family, and his country.  Rueben was a simple, down to earth man who lived his life according to the bible and did everything in the name of Jesus Christ. He raised his children with a humble and loving nature and his daughters held a tender place in his heart. Daily life in the Wolf household always included morning devotions, memorizing scripture, and the day always ended with the Lord's prayer. Rueben was a true patriot who loved his country and was proud to have served in the army.  Farming the land was Rueben's passion; he passed this love and work ethic to both his sons who followed in his footsteps.  Giving and generous, Rueben never hesitated to reach out to the person in need by making a phone call, loaning the use of his hands, or reading a prayer or bible verse.  Rueben loved to play the accordion and if he wasn't jiggling one of his grandchildren on his knee, he could be found singing and dancing. Rueben's love of God, his stories, and his life lessons will continue to be passed down through the generations and remain in the hearts of loved ones forever.

Rueben was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters, Vi Bertsch and Adeline May Cherry; son-in-law Harry Gorman, and grandsons Jordy, and Cole.

Rueben is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children, Vicki Gorman, Kenny Wolf (Ann), Keith Wolf (Monica), Penny Orr (Len), Naomi Buchholz (Jeff); 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; his brothers, LaVern Wolf (Darlene), Melvin Wolf, Archie Wolf (Diane) Ardeen Wolf (Vivian), Virgil Wolf (Elise), Russell Wolf (Sue); his sisters, Irene Nutz, Georgine Gref (Don), Bernadine Jorstad, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
