The funeral for Ruby Schulz, LaMoure, ND formerly of Edgeley, ND. will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND.  Visitation will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND.  Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Edgeley, ND.

Ruby was born on the family farm south of Kulm, ND on July 16, 1927 to Reinhold and Lydia (Rutschke) Retzlaff. She was raised on a farm south of Kulm and attended country school in the area. She then worked at a café in Edgeley, ND where she met and married Harvey C. Schulz on January 27, 1947 in Geneva, New York. After Harvey was discharged from the Navy they returned to Edgeley, ND and took over the family Farm. Ruby enjoyed living and working on the farm which including helping Harvey milk the cows, taking care of the daily chores on the farm and raising their children. She loved taking care of the chickens, gardening, bowling, playing bingo, sewing, dancing and playing cards with neighbors. Ruby was known for being a good cook and was famous for her beet wine. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church for her entire life. In 2002 they moved into Edgeley, ND.  They moved into Manor St. Joseph at Edgeley, ND in 2014. In the fall of 2018, they moved to St. Rose Care Center at LaMoure, ND.

Ruby died Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND.  She was 91 years old.

Ruby is survived by two sons, Marvin (Jolene) Schulz, Edgeley, ND and Jerome Schulz, Jamestown, ND; six grandchildren, Amy Gibson, Brock (Danielle) Schulz, Erica (Tim)  Hess, Dusty (Kelly) Schulz, Samantha (Cal) Perleberg and Cody Schulz; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Schulz, Kelton Schulz, Charlie Schulz, Betty Schulz, Meryl Perleberg, Mallory Perleberg, Bode Hess and two step great-grandchildren, Mckayla Hess and Travis Hess; sisters, Esther Scallon, Mandan and Jane Retzlaff, CA.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Harvey, parents, brothers, Melvin, Roy and Lloyd and her sister Wilma.
