The funeral for Ruby Gackle, Sioux Falls, SD formerly of Kulm, ND will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Kulm Congregational Church in Kulm, ND. Burial will be at the Kulm Congregational Cemetery, Kulm. ND.

Ruby Mogck daughter of C.B. and Katie (Jenner) Mogck was born July 19, 1914 in Pamona View Township, Lamoure County, near Kulm, ND. She attended country school until 14 years old. Her parents then moved to Kulm where she attended high school and graduated from Kulm High School in 1933. While going to high school she worked in the Kulm Café for John and Nora Gackle. After high school she was employed in Fargo for one year. In 1935 she and Ervin Gackle were married by Rev Felberg in her parents' home. They farmed for 24 years and then moved to Kulm. She was employed by Kramlichs Meat Locker for 2 years and in 1966 she was employed by Farmers Union Oil Co. for 13 years as assistant bookkeeper. She retired in December of 1979 and moved to Jamestown in September 1999. She was a lifetime member of First Congregational Church of Kulm. In January 2004 she moved to Sioux Falls, SD and lived in the Canterbury Apts. She attended church with her son Gerry and daughter Elaine.

Ruby Maranda Gackle died Sunday September 22, 2013 at Avera Hospice House, Sioux Falls, SD. She was 99 years old.

Ruby is survived by five children: Gerald, Arlene Sioux Falls, SD; Elaine, George Olson, Sioux Falls, SD; Keith, Carol Gackle, Gary, SD; Joyce, Gerard Gerlach, Moorhead, MN; Steve, Rhonda Gackle, Grand Forks, ND; daughter-in law Sylvia Gackle, Terra Haute, IN, 18 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild, one sister, Hattie Borth of Burbank, CA. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ervin, son, Earl, grandson, Brandon, parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 brother and 1 sister in infancy.
