The Memorial Service for Robert Schulz, Napoleon, ND will be Wednesday, July 3, at 3:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at Mandan, ND.


Robert J. Schulz, son of Abel and Christine (Retzlaff) Schulz was born June 6, 1937 on a farm near Kintyre, ND. He grew up in the Kintyre / Braddock area and attended school there. Robert served in the military in 1957 and served for 9 months. He then returned home and worked for his uncles on their farms. Robert married Helena Fettig on May 29, 1961. They resided in Braddock, ND for 4 years where he worked for Ethel Entz and Dale Rambough. They then moved to Napoleon where Robert worked for Otto Grenz and John Deere Implement in the parts department. Robert and Helena moved to Wishek for 10 years where he worked for John Deere Implement and Slim Eszlinger. In 1989 they moved back to Napoleon where he worked at Conoco and the Napoleon Care Center. Robert enjoyed woodworking, gardening, lawn work, playing cards and being with his children and grandchildren.

Robert died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his home with his wife and family by his side. He was 76 years old.

Robert is survived by his wife, Helena, Napoleon, ND; children, Dennis Schulz, Napoleon, ND; Denise Walth, Lincoln, ND; Darvin (Jackie) Schulz, Mandan, ND ; Dorinda (Russ) Olson, Washburn, ND and twelve grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel (Mary) Schulz, Aberdeen, SD and David (Diane) Schulz, Bismarck, ND; one sister, Donna Hamel, Bismarck, ND; one sister-in-law, Delaine Schulz, Wishek, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Christine Schulz; three brothers, Melvin, LaValle and Ronnie and a brother-in-law, Donald Hamel.
