The funeral for Rita Wangler, Napoleon, ND will be Monday, August 28, 2017 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at 10:30 am.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.

Rita Stella Unser daughter of Leo and Kenegunda (Baumstarck) Unser was born March 20, 1948 at Bismarck, ND.   She grew up and attended school in Napoleon, ND graduating in 1967.  She attended Mary College.  Rita married Anthony Wangler July 12, 1969 at St Boniface Catholic Church, rural Kintyre, ND.   They lived in Fargo and Grand Forks, ND before returning to live and farm SW of Napoleon, ND.  Rita and Tony moved into Napoleon in 2008.  Rita was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.  Her grandchildren were her life.  She loved flowers, gardening and was a very good cook.  Rita made people feel welcome. And always enjoyed company.  She loved music and was a member of the Young German Singers.

Rita died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Alexius Medical Center at Bismarck, ND. She was 69 years old.

Rita is survived by her husband, Tony, Napoleon, ND; her three children and nine grandchildren, daughter, Angela (Rodney) Glass, Bismarck, ND and children, Jordan and Alexis;  son, Derek (Jenny) Wangler, Gwinner, ND  and children,  Dalton, Brittany, Bladen, Kaitlyn and Aleaha; son, Joshua (Katie) Wangler, Bismarck, ND and children, Elliot and Isaac; her siblings, Claudia  (George) Montanez, Redlands, CA; Ted Unser, Bismarck, ND; Gerard (Charlotte) Unser, Mesa, AZ; Julie Wilke, Surprise, AZ;  Terri (Rick) Lea, MN; John (Lynn) Menk, MN; Cindi Bennett, MN; Robyn Geiger, MN; Lydia (Tim) Krumm, Bismarck, ND and  Steven Weber, MN.
