Raymond "Buster" Wolf was born on October 14, 1937 to Ben and Barbara (Holzer) Wolf in Zeeland.  He grew up the only boy among six sisters.  He graduated from Zeeland High School in 1955.  He then hauled gravel for various road jobs in and around the area.  From 1957 to 1959,  he served in the US Army and spent time in Korea.  After his discharge, he attended Wahpeton State School of Science earning a degree in the electrical field.  On October 21, 1961, he was united in marriage to Helen Nolz at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. They joyfully raised 3 children- Jason, Yvonne and Nathan.  They acquired Wolf Oil Company from his father Ben in 1962, operating it for approximately 50 years, having the enjoyable help of many wonderful and competent hired men. Buster, along with his cousin Joe, provided the community with valuable services, specializing in friendships and smiles.

Buster enjoyed and cherished the many friendships he made over his lifespan.  He loved the game of golf, especially with his buddy Snooks and the Ashley Crew.  He was known far and wide for his quick wit and sense of humor.

He served his community in many ways as a member of the Fire Department, Lions Club, City Council and Mayor for over 20 years.  He and Helen were faithful members of St. Andrew's Catholic Church their entire lives and passed that faith on to their children.

He especially loved his grandchildren, encouraging them in their endeavors, visiting with them, telling humorous stories and jokes and cherishing their presence.

Buster is survived by Helen, his wife of 62 years, children Jason (Susan), Yvonne and Nathan (Missy), grandchildren Landon and Jake Wolf, Sarah and Samuel Williams and Lane, Hunter and Seth Wolf, sisters Bernette Rempfer, Kathy Prothe, Barbara Ireland (Bob), Alice (Ed) Rypkema, brothers-in-law Ben Sims, Reinie Uhlich, Pius Nolz, Andy (Liz) Nolz and Jerome Senger, sisters-in-law Ann Nolz and Eileen Krumm.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Barbara Wolf, and parents- in-law Andrew and Anna Nolz, sisters Marie Sims and Ann Uhlich, brothers and sisters-in- law Ron Rempfer, Mel Prothe, Eugene and Rose Nolz, Martin, Joe and Aloys Nolz, Leo and Ann Nolz, Francis and Ann Nolz, Annie Senger and Rosemary Nolz.

A special thank you goes out to the Ashley Medical Center and Clinic, the Zeeland First Responders, Father Katanga and the People of Zeeland for their excellent care and concern for both Buster and Helen over these past years.  Your care provided us with many more precious memories with Buster.
