The memorial service for Randy Schlenker, Lehr, ND will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek, ND.


Randy Alan Schlenker, son of Ivan and Lorentina (Steiger) Schlenker was born August 27, 1958 in Leola, SD. He spent his childhood years on the family farm near Forbes, ND where his love of farming began. Randy graduated from Forbes High School in 1977 and spent that summer working on his Uncle Gene Staffords farm near Forbes. Randy married Sandy Kaseman of Wishek, ND on Jan. 26, 1980. They began their life together with their son Bradley near Ellendale, ND when Chad was born and Randy worked as a farm hand. They then moved to Guelph, ND when Janell was born. They moved to Forbes in 1982 to work for his Uncle Jack Schlenker. In 1984 they moved to Wyndmere, ND to work for Robert Kuchera, when Danielle was born. In 1989 they moved to Wishek, ND where he worked road construction. On August 16, 1991 their son Chad passed away. During the years in Wishek Randy worked various construction and farm jobs. They then lived in Linton and Hazelton before moving back to Wishek in 1994 where he started trucking as R&S. In 2005 they built a farmstead near Lehr, ND. Randy's love of farming, and the outdoors was evident in everything he did. He loved to camp, fish, hunt, and just be outside. The best times were spent with family and friends doing those things.

Randy passed away on March 29, 2011 at Bird City, KS. He was 52 years old.

Randy is survived by his wife of 31 years Sandy, one son, Bradley, Dickinson, ND; two daughters, Janell (Chad) Doll, Ashley, ND; Danielle (Joe) Erickson, Ashley, ND; his parents, Ivan & Lorentina Schlenker, Eureka, SD; three sisters Kathy (Rudy) Aman, Eureka, SD; Tami (Daryl) Engel, Garrison, ND; Kelli (Scott) Hoffman, Bismarck, ND; two brothers, Terry (Angie) Schlenker, Mobridge SD; Kurt (Holly) Schlenker, Forbes ND; five grandchildren: Bailee Rudolph, Landon Doll, Mystic & Delmar Erickson and Braxton Schlenker; several Nieces & Nephews; In-laws, Raymond & Peuna Kaseman, six, brother-in-laws, Daryl Kaseman, Bismarck ND; Dean (Kristi) Kaseman, Wyndmere, ND; Rodney Kaseman, Denver, CO; Raymond JR (Rose) Kaseman Wishek ND, Kirby (Janeen) Kaseman Wishek ND, Kevin Kaseman, Fargo, ND; five sister-in-laws, Sarah (Willie) Bettenhausen, Greeley, CO; Sheila (Kevin) Zaput, Prescott, AZ; Susan Kaseman, Wishek, ND; Sonia (Pat) Gregory, Wishek, ND; Sheri Kaseman, Sioux IA; and many, many, many friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Chad Ray Schlenker, maternal grandparents Andrew & Anna (Mohr) Steiger, paternal grandparents Christ & Lydia (Erlenbusch) Schlenker, nieces Nicole Sanders & Arianna Kaseman.
