Ramona Herr, 91, of Wishek, ND, passed away August 13, 2022 at the Wishek Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Burial will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
Ramona was born March 3 rd , 1931 to Arthur and Pauline (Just) Vossler at Wishek, ND. She was raised and educated in Wishek, graduating from Wishek High School in May of 1950. After graduation, she attended Ellendale College and then took a teaching job at the 12 mile schoolhouse.
Ramona was united in marriage to Delmar Herr on April 21 st , 1951 at Camp Rucker, Alabama (where Delmar's National Guard unit was stationed). They lived in Alabama until Delmar's discharge in Sept. of 1952. Once back in Wishek, Ramona worked at the Dakota Café (owned and operated by her in-laws, George and Margaret Herr). In 1956 she went to work for MDU, where she served as a district representative. She retired in 1993 after 37 years with the company.
Ramona was an avid reader, often sharing or trading books with friends and family. She also enjoyed doing ceramics and crafts; as well as, playing piano and organ. In earlier years she gave piano lessons and was an organist at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, playing for Sunday morning services. She also sang in the choir and even enlisted her kids to sing in junior choir.
Ramona is survived by her son, Kevin (Kathy) Herr, Barnesville, MN; her daughter Cindy (Clyde) Kramer, Wishek, ND; 5 grandchildren (Chad, Angie, Justin, Ross, and Erin), and 14 great grandchildren; one brother Harlen (Idella) Vossler, Wishek, ND, one sister, Priscilla Aipperspach, Wishek, ND.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, her parents, and a sister.
