Obituary

Phyllis Johnson, 84, of Napoleon, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Miller Pointe Care Center, Mandan, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Napoleon.

Phillicia (Phyllis) Roehrich was born September 18, 1935. to Barbara Voller and Joseph J. Roehrich of Napoleon. She graduated from Napoleon High in 1953. She married William C. Johnson and together they had two children William Dean and Audrey (Dennis) Wise, one grandson Ashley (Beth) Wise, and two precious great granddaughters Linnea Marie and Emberlei Skye.

Phyllis was a certified Activity Coordinator for 17 years at Napoleon Care Center – formerly known as Logan County Home for the Aged. She was also the Brownie and intermediate Girl Scout leader for several years. Phyllis graduated in 2001 from Maryvale Convent as E.P.S. (Education Parish Service). She became an "Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion", Lector, parish helper for Mass at the care center, "Home Communion Coordinator" (taking Holy Communion to the home bound) for about 14 years, and was Sacristan for St. Philip Neri Catholic Church assisting with Mass.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers - Henry, Joseph, and Deacon Edward (Frances Hunkler); and sisters - Viola (Jake) Kuntz, Genevieve (Ben) Kraft, Helen (John) Schumacher, Hildagard, Lillian (Don) Jutila, Barbara (Albert) Schirk, and Irene (James) Brunner.
