Phyllis L Bender, 86, of Wishek ND, passed away November 13, 2021, at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 1:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at the Lehr Cemetery followed by a reception at the Lehr Community Center. Phyllis Lavilla Bender daughter of Albert and Hilda Heiser was born October 8, 1935, near Danzig North Dakota. Phyllis married Elmer on March 22, 1953, in Wishek ND. Phyllis helped farm and ranch the Bender farm near Lehr, ND, with her family and moved to Wishek in 1996. Elmer passed away August 14, 2017, at the age of 88. They were married 64 years.

Phyllis is survived by her children, sons, Lonnie (Delilah) Bender, Lehr, ND, Merlynn Bender (Patti), Lakewood CO, Lavern Bender (Sonja), Lehr ND; daughters, Jolene (Rob) Dewitz, Steele, ND and Miriam (Kelly) Masseth, West Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Mitch Bender, Joseph Bender, Chase Dewitz and Matt Hagen; eight great-grandchildren, Caleb, Rylee, Thomas, Alayna Bender, Jackson Hagen, Mcoy, Clinch, and Ella Dewitz; brother, Jim (Carol) Heiser, Monticello, MN; brothers-in-law, Vernon (Darlene) Bender, Bismarck, ND, and Leo (Mary) Bender, Shakopee, MN.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer; one daughter, LaRae LeAnn and her brother-in-law, Larry Bender.
