Pauline Wald, 92, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Napoleon, passed away July 3, 2022 at Ave Maria Nursing Home, Jamestown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Philip Neri. Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Pauline Wald was born on September 22, 1929 in rural Raleigh, ND. She was baptized at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Her parents were Philip and Bertha (Ternes) Berger.
She married Joseph A. Wald on June 23 rd , 1952 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mott, ND.
Pauline farmed along with her husband 10.5 miles northeast of Napoleon, ND for 33 years before moving to Napoleon in October of 1985.
On the farm Pauline worked very hard doing the regular farm chores in addition to milking cows, raising chickens, and caring for a huge garden. Pauline was known for her wonderful cooking and canning talents. She loved spending time with friends playing Pinochle and was always open to a fine game of bingo.
Pauline was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon and St. James Basilica in Jamestown at the time of her death. Her devotion to her Catholic faith was an inspiration to all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Wald in 2010, her parents, two brothers Alphonse and Anthony and one sister Barbara Barth, three sons Michael, Dennis and Monsignor Jeffrey Wald, one daughter Barbara Ann and one grandson Michael Nosal.
She is survived by her children: Patrick (Dehlila) Wald, Bismarck; Tony (Patricia) Wald, Mandan; Clinton (Ann) Wald, Bismarck; Peter Wald, Bismarck; Virginia (Joe Zubrod), Valley City; Bertha (Lee Blaschke), Lisbon; Dorothy (Geoff Lauinger), Jamestown; daughter-in-law Clare Wald, Aberdeen; sisters: Frances Gower, White Salmon, OR.; Lorraine Ressler, Bismarck; Rose (Alvin Heier), Bismarck; Mary Wald, Bismarck; her sister-in-law Patricia Berger, Renton, Washington; along with 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
