The Mass of Christian Burial for Paul P. Becker, Napoleon, North Dakota will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery in Napoleon, ND.

Paul Becker, son of George and Barbara (Johs) Becker was born March 11, 1931 at Napoleon, ND the second of five children. He was raised on a farm south of Napoleon, where he attended country school. On June 9, 1953, he married Viola Glatt at St. Anthony's Catholic Church rural Napoleon. Together they raised five children and farmed south of Napoleon, ND near Burnstad. In 1990 they moved into Napoleon. Paul continued to help on the farm for many years. Paul valued his faith, family and hard-work ethic. He was proud of raising his children in the Catholic faith, making sure they attended Mass every week and received their sacraments. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul was a strong man who put in a full day's work, day-after-day on the farm. He led his family by example in the value of hard work. Like a true farmer, Paul loved to take a drive in the countryside, checking out all the crops and cattle. Paul enjoyed a good card game, especially pinochle or gin, and many fond memories were created spending time with his family and friends this way. He and Viola played in a pinochle club for many years. Paul enjoyed visiting with his children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them during the hunting season, holidays, or anytime.


Paul died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. He was 82 years old.

Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Viola, Napoleon, ND; their five children, Gary (Cindy) Becker, Bismarck, ND; Ron (Lee) Becker, Bismarck, ND; David (Dawn) Becker, Napoleon, ND; Billy (Alicia) Becker, Wishek, ND and Julie (Mike) Vetter, Minot, ND; 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Delores) Becker, Napoleon, ND; two sisters, Johanna Glatt, Napoleon, ND; Mary Beth (Gary) Perala, Mandan, ND.
