The funeral for Paul Edward Ackerman, Wishek, ND will be Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the United Church of Christ at Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the Wishek City Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Paul Edward Ackerman son of Albert W. and Luella (Ulmer) Ackerman was born August 3, 1961 at Bismarck, ND. He grew up in the Wishek area and attended Wishek Public school. Paul graduated from Wishek High school in 1979. Paul attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND where he received an Associate Degree in Business Management. After his schooling he returned back to Wishek where he continued to farm and ranch until the time of his death. Paul was a member of the United Church of Christ in Wishek and served on several UCC boards and committees. He served on the board for the Wishek Home for the Aged for many years and Wishek Economic Development Corporation for 2 years. Paul was very proud of his community and served wherever he could. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially with his nephew and nieces and taking them for tractor and combine rides.

Paul died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek, ND. He was 48 years old.

Paul is survived by his parents, Albert W. and Luella Ackerman, Wishek, ND; one sister, Ruby Ackerman, Fargo, ND: one brother, Waldo (Susan) Ackerman, Aurora, CO; nephew and nieces, Kenny (14), Amber (12) and Emma (7) Ackerman, Aurora, CO, one, brother-in-law, Jerry Sand, Plattsmouth, NE. He was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel, one sister, Alice Sand and his grandparents.
