The funeral for Otto J. Meidinger, Zeeland, ND will be Monday, April 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the United Church of Christ at Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the New Kassel E&R Cemetery, rural Zeeland, ND.


Otto J. Meidinger son of John R. and Lydia (Meidinger) Meidinger was born September 24, 1924 at Zeeland, ND their tenth child. Otto attended rural school in McIntosh County. Otto married Alice Viola Brandner on October 18, 1955 at the New Kassel Reformed Church rural Zeeland, ND. They made their home on the farm where Otto was born and raised, 12 miles northeast of Zeeland, ND. Otto had a quick witty sense of humor and took great pleasure in giving his caretakers at the Ashley Hospital and Nursing Home a hard time.

Otto died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Ashley Medical Center at Ashley, ND. He was 86 years old.

Otto is survived by his wife Alice, Zeeland, ND; three sons, Steve (Michele) Meidinger, Zeeland, ND; Neil (Rebecca) Meidinger, Zeeland, ND; Randy Meidinger, Rapid City, SD; three daughters, Norma (Rick) Torrez, Orlando, FL; Darlene (Dennis Matejcek) Meidinger, Grand Forks, ND; Bonnie (Bill) Miller, Rapid City, SD; 8 grandchildren, Mikayla and Marissa Meidinger, Zeeland, ND; Jacob Meidinger, Zeeland, ND; Anthony Torrez and friend MaryAnn, Orlando, FL; Christina Torrez, Orlando, FL; Kevin and Kelsey Restemayer, Helena, MT; Glenn Crowe and friend Sara, Devils Lake, ND; Cody Erickson, Bismarck, ND and one great-grandchild, Addison Restemayer, Helena, MT; one brother, Art J. (Violet) Meidinger, Zeeland, ND and one sister, Meda (Harold) Heupel, Eureka, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia, 5 sisters, Othelia Ketterling, Adeline Brandner Ketterling, Eva Ketterling, Frieda Bender and Loretta Newcomer; 3 brothers, Reuben Meidinger, Aaron Meidinger and Isadore Meidinger.
