Norman Neis, 75, of Hague, ND passed away January 21, 2020 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 from 5:30-7:00 PM with a Rosary/Vigil service at 7:00 PM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND. Burial will be in the spring at St. Anthony's Catholic Church Cemetery, Linton, ND.

Norman was born July 29, 1944 in Linton, ND to Frank and Helen (Mitzel) Neis. He grew up on a farm east of Strasburg, ND. He attended grade school at Odessa Country School and graduated from Strasburg High School. After high school he began farming with his father where he continued to farm until retiring in 2011. He married Carol Materi on September 6, 1969 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND. They had one daughter Nancy.

Norman had a love for automobiles his entire life, every vehicle he owned he took great pride in. He also took great pride in his farm machinery, making sure it was always polished and clean at the end of every season. His pride also extended into the look of his hair, which he was always very picky about.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and in the past served on the Strasburg Rural Fire District Board.

Norman is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Neis, Hague, ND; one daughter, Nancy (Jed) Olson, Fairview Heights, IL; one granddaughter, Jessica Olson, Fairview Heights, IL; three sisters, Helen (Garland) Segner, Buffalo, MN, Marie Silvernagel, Plymouth, MN and Cabrini (Scott) Shaller, Eagan, MN; three nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Neis; one brother, Donald Neis and one brother-in-law, Lester Silvernagel.
