Monika Michaelsohn, 96, of Wishek, ND, went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2022, at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Burial will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek. Monika was born to Gottlieb & Mary Walth on October 1, 1925, in Wishek ND. She grew up on the farm south of Wishek ND. Monika attended rural school in McIntosh County up to the 8 ^th grade. On October 11, 1952, Monika married Allen Michaelsohn. Together they had 5 children, Marlys, Sharon, Curtis, Terry and Tammy.

Monika and Allen had a farm NW of Lehr and in the year of 1963, they moved to Wishek, ND. They were lifelong members of the St. Luke Lutheran Church. Monika started to work at the Wishek Community Hospital when they moved to Wishek where she was a loyal employee for 27 years. Monika enjoyed working outdoors. She had the most beautiful lawn and flowers. Upon Monika's husband Allen's death, she got her loyal companion, her dog Buffy. Wherever Monika went Buffy was sure to follow until she passed away at the age of 14 yrs. Monika moved to the Wishek Living Center Apartments in 2016. When her health declined, she became a resident of the Wishek Living Center until her passing.

Monika was loved by many and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children, Marlys (Rick) Galinski, Phoenix, AZ, Sharon Vertuno, Isanti MN, Curtis (Linda) Michaelsohn, Wishek, Terry (Soren) Friestad, West Fargo, Tammy Michaelsohn, Isanti; 10 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren; and one sister; Diana Heaton, Fargo, ND.

Monika was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; grandson, David; 2 sisters, Doris Schook and Edna Donner; and her parents, Gottlieb and Mary Walth.
