The memorial service for Mildred Francis Weber, Wishek, ND will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at Dahlstrom Funeral Home Chapel, Wishek, ND at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
Mildred "Millie" was born on October 6, 1933 in Eureka, SD to Emanuel and Martha (Schilling) Benkendorf. As a young child, she enjoyed spending time outdoors with her siblings on the family farm south of Wishek. After graduation, Millie moved to Minneapolis where she married Edmund Weber. They were blessed with five children. In 1965 Millie and her children moved to Wishek to be closer to family. Millie worked for a time for Dr. Larry & Marge Sayler and Marge's Family Apparel. She was very proud of her work as a CNA, at the Wishek Living Center, a job at which she worked for 25 years. She retired in 2010. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling to visit her grandchildren. To Millie her family was everything. Millie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Dementia several years ago but still managed to have a good sense of humor and was always a pleasure to be around. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She was always filled with anticipation and great joy at the thought of upcoming family gatherings and enjoying staying up late reminiscing with family at those gatherings, each of those gatherings including her famous potato salad. She had a great knack of remembering everyone's birthdays and would spend much time picking out just the right card for each and every one. Millie took great pride in her garden and her flowers. She enjoyed the spring and the warming weather and appreciated time spent outside visiting with her children and grandchildren. Millie was kind-hearted, dedicated, honest and hardworking. She was always willing to share her compassion with anyone who stopped by her house or gave her a call on the phone. Millie impacted so many people with her genuine listening and her witty sense of humor. Her ability to laugh in any situation, even if at herself, was something that was admired and will be deeply missed by all who loved her and all that came in contact with her.
Mildred was called home to her Heavenly father on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Wishek Living Center. She was 83 years old.
