Mildred (Kauk) Wanner, wife, mother, friend and partner in farming, passed away January 26th, 2023 at 92 years of age, at the Wishek Living Center. She was born to John and Magdalena (Becker) Kauk. Mildred was a native of Lehr and Wishek North Dakota. She is survived by her two daughters, Shelley (Wanner) Royce and husband Timothy and Wanda (Wanner) Felten and husband Donald.

Her life on the farm was hard work but as more efficient farm machinery was introduced, Christ and Mildred enjoyed farming into the later years of life. She liked the baby chicks, calves and ducks in the spring and attending Kem-Electric meetings, Sauerkraut Days and parades. Mildred enjoyed her family, gardening, canning, baking, crossword puzzles, coloring pictures, embroidery, fishing, and quilting. Her favorite TV series was "Walker, Texas Ranger" and favorite movie star was Chuck Norris. She enjoyed reading books about the"Old West".

Christ Wanner, husband, father, friend, farmer and US Army veteran preceded her in passing April 2004. Mildred also had eight siblings; (5 brothers) Emil, Albert, Bernhard, Harry, Laurence, (3 sisters) Esther (Kauk) Schlecht, Magdelena (Kauk) Schwecke, Hilda (Kauk) Clopp-Kramlich.

Mildred will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

A small graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Luke Cemetery, Wishek. Dahlstrom Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
