Obituary

Marvin Kroll, 88, of Napoleon, ND, passed away January 29, 2022, at the Napoleon Care Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5 th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4 th from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be held in the spring at Napoleon City Cemetery. Marvin was born September 25, 1933 in Logan County to Albert and Mary (Hoff) Kroll.  He was raised on a farm 12 miles NW of Napoleon where he attended county school till the 8 th grade.  He married Irene Foster on December 21, 1952 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Napoleon.  They lived on the family farm for several years, later Marvin worked for Gerlach Sheet and Metal at Bismarck, also did cement work for Alvin Scherr and in 1971 started working for Soo Line Rail Road out of Napoleon, where he worked until he retired in 1995.

Marvin enjoyed painting numerous buildings in the area, camping, and traveling, spending time with family, playing pinochle, and dancing to Pokka and Waltz.  He was a member of the Napoleon Wildlife Club.

Mavin is survived by his children, Dennis "Nook" (Donna) Kroll, Washburn, Doug (Carla) Kroll, Napoleon, Terry (Evonne) Kroll, Mandan, Jeff Kroll, Bismarck, Dean Kroll, Mandan and Mark Kroll, Napoleon; 12 grandchildren, Nicole, Noelle, Cody, Craig, Melanie, Jamie, Lindsey, Kristie, Evan, April, Kaitlyn, and Casey; 14 great-grandchildren, Kale, Tori, Macy, Colton, Elijah, Gabriel, Braylon, Easton, Everly, Jenner, Joah, Jerit, Scarlett, Arbor; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Xavier, Xander, Zoe, Zailee and Evan; sister, Frances Horan, Seattle, WA, Betty Ann (Mel), Yuma AZ; brothers, Ervin (Kathy) Kroll, CA and Eugene (Yvonne) Kroll, CO; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kroll, Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene in 2006; brothers, Alvin, Walter, Wilbert, Raymond, Oscar, Gilbert; sisters, Delores Oberlander, Alice Chio.
