Marvin E. (Farmer) Gall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the age of 89.  After failing health, he entered the Wishek Living Center in October 2020 and died peacefully in his sleep under the care of the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.  Burial will be held at St. Luke Cemetery, Wishek.  A Livestream of Marvin's Funeral Service will be available on the Dahlstrom Funeral Service Facebook page.

Farmer was born on February 14, 1932, in Burnstad, ND to Peter and Martha (Just) Gall.  As a boy, he lived in the country and attended Wishek Public School through the 8 ^th grade.  He learned from his father and mother to work extremely hard at a young age and worked for many farmers and businesses in the Wishek area.

On November 8, 1951, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, California as a chief cook . He returned to Wishek in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1959 from the United States Marine Corps Reserves.  He married the love of his life, Phyllis (Eiseman) and enjoyed 67 years of marriage.  They were blessed with two sons, Bilicki (Renae) Gall and Jerry (Robin) Gall.

During his life Farmer worked for the City of Wishek as a police officer, was an excellent carpenter where he built numerous buildings, along with remodeling projects within the community.  Farmer, Phyllis, and sons built the home he resided in for more than 40 years of his life.  Farmer also did amazing inventions to make something out of scrap metal, material, etc. with what he had available and in making useful recycled items which lasted for many years.  He also was an excellent upholsterer and did many pieces of furniture and other type of items which he would sew.  One of his most proud accomplishments was making new cushions for all the pews at St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Farmer spent many hours in making and maintaining a summer home for his family to enjoy at Green Lake (Green Acres).  Farmer loved to fish, hunt, process what he fished and hunted along with enjoying the consumption of the end results.

He enjoyed participating in the American Legion Drum & Bugle Corp, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Wishek Community for more than 60 years

Farmer was known for his ability to enjoy dancing, having a wonderful time along with having a recognizable laugh, smile, and his great sense of humor.

Farmer is succeeded in life by his wife Phyllis; son Bilicki (Renae) Gall, Bismarck and their sons Berrett (Scott) Gall, Minneapolis, MN and Christopher Gall, Bismarck; son Jerry (Robin) Gall, and their children Justin (Joie Ybarra) Gall, Jesse (Taylor) Gall and Ashley Gall all of Bismarck and 5 great-grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his family, including his brother Elmer Gall, sisters Irene Zaborowski, Ella Schelske, sisters-in-law Carol Gall, Ida Eiseman, Delores Berry and Doris Eiseman; brothers-in-law Jack Eiseman, and Jim Kocher and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends especially those at Green Acres.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Norman; sisters Viola Erickson and Phyllis Kocher, brother-in-law's Dan Schelske, Carl Zaborowski, Gordon Erickson, Elmer Eiseman, Clinton Eiseman, George Varin and Neal Berry, sisters-in-law Donna Gall, Janet Eiseman and Ardella Eiseman.

The family would like to thank the Wishek Living Center and Wishek Community Hospital for their loving and compassionate care they provided to Farmer these last 10 months.  We will celebrate his life and know he is in heaven watching over us.
