Celebration of Life Service for Marlin Kusler, 88, of Kulm, North Dakota will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Kulm First Congregational Church. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Pastors Adam Ost and Brett Moser will be officiating. Interment will be at the First Congregational Cemetery.
Marlin Willie Kusler was born June 12, 1932, southwest of Kulm, the oldest son of Willie and Magdalena (Oelke) Kusler. He married Martha Esther Carlson and continued farming on the family farm. There they raised their four children in a Christ-centered home.
Marlin was active in the Kulm community, using his skills and talents to help others as well as model servant hood for his family.
Marlin passed away June 14, 2020 at his home in Kulm, with his family by his side.
Marlin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Esther, his children: Sheri (Delbert)Kost, Bismarck, ND; Bruce (Nancy)Kusler, Kulm, ND; Sheila(Larry)Moser, Jamestown, ND; Sharlotte(Mark)Elhard, Jamestown, ND. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Jason (Tammy) Kost, Fargo,ND; Derek (Shawna) Kost, Bismarck, ND; Corey (Katie)Kost, Bismarck,ND; Willie (Stacy)Kusler, Thompson, ND; Evan (Julia) Kusler, Mililani, HI; Hannah(Stephen) Roise, Kulm,ND; Elizabeth (Devin)Hiller, Glyndon, MN; Brett (Shannon) Moser, Jamestown,ND; Marco (Heather) Moser, Jamestown, ND; Kelan (Jessica) Moser, Jamestown, ND; Charles Elhard, Fargo, ND; Benjamin (Lindsay)Elhard, Adrian, ND; Andrew (Annie)Elhard, Jud, ND; and Nathan (Emily) Elhard, Lansford,ND. He also had 24 great grandchildren; his brother, Howard (Lucy) Kusler, Oswego, OR; and his sister, Joyce (Lyle) Janke, Fargo, ND.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Luella Carlson and Idella Nelson, and two infant sisters.
Memorials in honor of Marlin can be sent to Mission Aviation Fellowship or Crystal Springs Bible Camp.
