The funeral for Marilyn K. Neigum will be held Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Napoleon, ND. A private burial will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.

Marilyn was born on December 30, 1936 to Paul and Theresa (Braun) Welder at Napoleon, ND. After growing up in Napoleon and graduating from Napoleon High School, Marilyn attended Bismarck Junior College in Bismarck, ND. She moved back to Napoleon where she met Elmer Neigum. Marilyn and Elmer were united in marriage on June 16, 1958. Together, they had 4 children that meant the world to her. Marilyn enjoyed working in her large beautiful flower beds, gardening, camping, fishing, bowling, and going to the casino. In the summer, she could be found relaxing on her backyard patio until dark. Marilyn always had a great sense of humor. While compassionate, she stood strong on her beliefs and would not shy away from sharing her opinion. She was known for speaking her mind.


Marilyn passed away peacefully on February 5, 2014 in Mesa, AZ, with her loving family by her side. She was 77 years old.

She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her husband Elmer; daughters, Shelley (Dean) Taylor, Prescott AZ and Shari Neigum, Bismarck ND; sons, Tom (Carol) Neigum, Bismarck ND and Brian Neigum, Bismarck ND; granddaughters, Jessie and Alexis Taylor, Prescott AZ; Brittany Perleberg, Bismarck ND and Christina Perleberg, Fargo ND; great grandson, Blake Perleberg , Bismarck ND; brother, Tony Welder, Bismarck ND; sisters, Marcy Eggen and Paula Welder, Alamogordo NM; sisters-in-law, Irene Gleason, Tucson AZ, Mary Neigum, Wahpeton, ND and Ona Welder, Bismarck, ND, brother- in-law, Ben (Betty) Neigum, Bismarck, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Theresa Welder, three brothers-in-law, Mike Eggen, Clinton Gleason and George Neigum.
