Obituary

The memorial service for Marie Rohrich, longtime  Napoleon, ND resident  will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, ND.  There will be a prayer service Friday at 7:30 PM at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Napoleon, ND.  Inurnment will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery.

Marie Roesler, the daughter of Frederick and Emelia (Kanawisher) Roesler was born April 2, 1921 at Lehr, ND and attended schools in Hillsburg Township.  She graduated with honors from Loewenthal High School and worked as Deputy Register of Deeds in Napoleon until her marriage to George Rohrich on June 23, 1942 at Pendleton, Oregon.  The Rohrich's farmed and ranched in the Napoleon area and during that time Marie earned her Teaching Certificate from Northern State University.   She taught country school for a number of years.  In 1949 they built a home in Napoleon and also owned and operated the Northside Bar.  Marie worked with the Soil Conservation Service and as a legal secretary for the Logan County Abstract and Title Company. They purchased the business in 1976 and sold it 1992.  Besides her business interests Marie raised a family of two girls and three boys, served as a Cub Scout Den Mother,   4-H Club Leader, Chairman of the Social Services Board for 29 years and secretary of the Farm Bureau.  Marie was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Alter Society.

Marie died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Med Center One at Bismarck, ND.

Marie is survived by her five children, Marlene (Rod) McAllister, Mesa, AZ; Gerald (Marcille) Rohrich, Bismarck, ND;  Linda (James) Rohrich Stevenson, Carefree, AZ; Dean Rohrich, Valley City, ND; George Allen (Valerie) Rohrich, Craig, CO; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emil Roesler, Lehr, ND; Larry (Vivian) Roesler, Fort Walton beach, FL; two sisters, Esther Graf, Streeter, ND and Martha LaBrensz, Woodburn, OR.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George of 65 years, an infant daughter, Mary Ann, three brothers, Albert, Ted and Bill, a sister Emma and a grandchild William McAllister.  Marie was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family prefers memorial to Napoleons dollars for scholars.  Visit www.dahlstromfuneralservice.com to sign on line guestbook.
