Margaret Wangler was born March 26, 1949, to Wendelin A. and Elizabeth Wangler, rural Napoleon. She attended St. Boniface Rural School. In 1969 she graduated from Josef's Hairstyling College in Bismarck, ND. Margaret married Isadore Wald on April 8, 1972, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, rural Kintyre. Together they owned and operated a grain and livestock farm south of Napoleon where Margaret also owned and operated her own beauty salon.

Margaret was an active member of her community and served in many volunteer leadership roles with Logan County 4-H, Napoleon Band Mothers and the Christian Mothers. Growing up on a farm just ¼ mile from St. Boniface Church, she was a devout servant of the parish and spent much of her time volunteering to keep the rural parish going. She served as a CCD teacher and was named CCD program coordinator for the parish and volunteered her time singing in the church choir, participating as a member of the parish council and altar society. She had a natural talent of creativity and enjoyed her time spent decorating the church and putting together floral arrangements for holidays and special occasions.

Margaret enjoyed music and dance, especially the German polkas and waltzes. She always had a huge garden and loved to cook and bake and made sure no one went hungry. She always put others needs ahead of her own and enjoyed her time spent as a mother taking care of her five children and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for her grandson Thomas Isadore Wald, who she cared for from the age of 6 weeks until he started school. Her Catholic faith was so important to her and she instilled those values in each of her children.

Margaret is survived by her 3 daughters: Michele (Dean) Miller, Renae (Duane) Moch, and Sheila Wald; 2 sons, Glen Wald and Steven (Brandi) Wald; 10 grandchildren; 1 sister, Helen (Pete) Ebach; 1 brother, Joe W. (Kathy) Wangler.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore in 2014 and her parents, Wendelin A. and Elizabeth Wangler.
