Obituary

Margaret Fettig, 95, of Napoleon, ND, died February 12, 2026, at the Wentz Living Center, Napoleon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Philip Neri Cemetery. A livestream of Margaret's service will be available on the St. Philip Neri Napoleon YouTube page.

Margaret was born on April 28, 1930, in Logan County, ND to Joseph and Mary (Glatt) Hilsendeger. She grew up on the family farm south of Napoleon and attended country school in the area. Following her education, she stayed at home and worked on the family farm. She was united in marriage to John A. Fettig on June 8, 1954, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. In 1961 they purchased the family farm where they lived and farmed until 1982 when they moved into Napoleon.

Margaret was a lifetime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society. During her spare time, she enjoyed embroidering and watching Jeopardy, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her children, Rich Fettig, Phoenix, AZ, Carol (Lonnie) Wentz, Napoleon, Ronald (Colleen) Fettig, Napoleon and Connie (Rick) Schumacher, Napoleon; grandchildren, Nicki (Rashad) Schaffner, Darci (Michael) Mittleider, Jamie (Brent) Vetter, Chad Fettig, Carly Schilling (Evan), Clarissa Volk (Chris), Brittani (Ryan) Moser and Corey (Michelle) Schumacher; great grandchildren, Ethan, Tristan and Breckan Schaffner, Lillian, Mia and Maci Mittleider, Kelsey, Ryker, Rylan and Koltyn Vetter, Taylor, Braxdon and Kyson Schilling, Chaya, Chanelle, Chakara and Cheydan Volk, Eisely and Emrik Moser, Hunter, Wyatt, Ellia, Levi and Jayde Schumacher; and one brother, Johnny Hilsendeger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 2001; son, Kenneth Fettig; and brothers, John and William Hilsendeger.
