The funeral for Magdalena "Maggie" A. Herr, Wishek, ND will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Wishek, ND. Burial will be at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.

Magdalena A. Just daughter of August and Magdalena (Haas) Just was born January 26, 1920 on the family farm seven miles north of Zeeland, ND. At a young age, Maggie moved from the Zeeland, ND area to a farm 4 miles north of Wishek, ND. She attended school in rural Logan County. As a teenager Maggie started working for Mrs. John Doyle doing housekeeping. In 1943 Mrs. Doyle was instrumental in helping Maggie get started in the restaurant business, at which time Maggie bought and began operating Maggie's Café. Maggie was united in marriage to Lorron J. Herr on May 7, 1946 in Wishek, ND. They owned and operated Maggie's Café together until 1983 at which time they sold the business to Lorraine and Elroy Bauer. Maggie continued to help with the cooking at the café until May 25, 2001, when she retired, due to health. Maggie thoroughly enjoyed working at the café. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Maggie died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. Maggie was 95 years old.

Maggie is survived by three sons, Arlen Herr, Wishek, ND, James (MaryLou) Herr, Milaca, MN, Keith Herr, Surprise, AZ; three grandsons, D.J. (Tina) Herr, Milaca, MN, Drew Herr, Elk River, MN and Maximillian Herr, Surprise, AZ; one granddaughter, Nikki Herr, Milaca, MN and four great grandson, Cyrus and Ezra Merchant, Milaca, MN, Felix and Gabriel Herr, Zimmerman, MN; one brother, George Just, Wishek, ND; two sisters, Irene Koepplin, Wishek, ND and Lorraine Bauer, Wishek, ND.
