The funeral for Magdalena "Maggie" Weigel, Napoleon, North Dakota will be held Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Chrch, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery in Napoleon, ND.

Maggie Fettig was born May 9, 1925 to Andrew and Rosa (Wangler) Fettig in Schell Butte Township. She received her education in Schell Butte School District No. 3 and worked on the family farm. Maggie married Joe A. Weigel on September 27, 1954 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. They farmed 7 miles SE of Napoleon where they raised 5 children. Joe and Maggie moved to Napoleon in 1980 where they retired. Maggie loved to cook and bake. Some family favorites were her potato salad, soups and cucumber salad. She always made sure that everyone had enough to eat. She also loved gardening and was well known for her delicious pickles. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and praying the rosary.

Maggie died December 21, 2016 in Bismarck, ND surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old.

Maggie is survived by her children, Duane (Brenda Doll), Lewis (Denise Hoffer), Alvin (Lisa Hagel), all of Napoleon, ND; Jolene (Tom) Butler, Minnetonka, MN; and Shar (Vern) Nagel, Linton, ND; 13 grandchildren; Craig, Chad (Katie), Damon (Whitney), Kendra (fiancé Jayden Gross) Weigel; Shane, Grant, & Kaylin Weigel; Ashley (Shawn) Puklich, all of Napoleon, ND; Madison Butler, Nashville, TN and Abigail Butler, Minnetonka, MN; Brock, Wyatt, and Chandler Nagel of Linton, ND and 5 great grandchildren.
