The funeral for Mabel Schlenker, Kulm, ND will be Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church rural Kulm, ND. Burial will be at the Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, ND.

Mabel Lorraine Henneberg, daughter of Gottfried and Lydia (Hildebrand) Henneberg was born September 25, 1923 at Kulm, ND. She grew up on the family farm south of Kulm and attended country school through the eighth grade. Mabel worked in California for a short time. Mabel married Edgar Schlenker on February 4, 1942 at Ellendale, ND. They farmed south of Kulm for 36 years, moving into Kulm in 1978. Edgar passed away April 17, 2004. Mabel continued to live in Kulm until September of 2008 when she moved into the Manor St. Joseph at Edgeley, ND. In December of 2010 she moved into the St. Rose Care Center at LaMoure, ND. Mabel enjoyed entertaining, cooking, gardening, visiting with her friends and neighbors, spending time with her family. Mabel was a member and loved being involved with her church the Seventh-day Adventist of rural Kulm, ND.


Mabel passed away Monday, January 12, 2011 at the St. Rose Care Center at LaMoure, ND. She was 87 years old.

Mabel is survived by her son Terry (Linda) Schlenker, Kulm, ND; two grandchildren, Nicki Kungel, Fargo, ND and Dion (Teresa) Schlenker, Jamestown, ND; two great granddaughters, Taylor and Mikayla Kungel, Fargo, ND; one brother Wilbert (Ruby) Henneberg, Lodi, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Richard, Harry, Robert and Roy Henneberg and one sister Marion Dahl.
