Lynn Edwin Krueger, age 55, of Lehr, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, with his brother by his side, after a long and courageous battle with health complications.

Born on July 1, 1970, in Wishek, ND, Lynn was the beloved son of Lou Allen Krueger and Gertrude (Gertie) Schmirer Krueger, both of Lehr. He is also survived by his brother, Lyle Krueger, and sister-in-law, Cami Krueger, of Bismarck, along with his treasured nephews, Kaden and Keaton Krueger, also of Bismarck and aunts, Lavina (Krueger) Benkendorf and Ann Hjelmstad.

Lynn was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Otillia Krueger; his maternal grandparents, Peter and Emma Schmirer-Diegel and Gus Diegel; and his uncles, Walter Raile, Stanley Benkendorf, Leo Krein and Wendell Hjelmstad.

Lynn had a deep love for horses and dogs, often finding peace and comfort on long rides with his faithful dogs in tow. Known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and sharp sense of humor, he could brighten even the most stressful days for those around him.  He was a colleague, friend, and teacher over the past 20+ years of service at the Wishek Nursing home where he served as a CNA and Physical Therapist Aid.

From the time he was diagnosed with diabetes at just 18 months old, Lynn's life was marked by incredible toughness and resilience. Over the years, he faced, and overcame, serious health challenges, including congestive heart failure, kidney failure, kidney and pancreas transplants, and multiple pacemaker/defibrillator surgeries due to faulty technology or infection.

In January 2024, after being referred to specialists at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, it seemed Lynn had once again prevailed. But in the months that followed, complications from infection took a toll. In October 2024 and December 2024, he lost fingers on his left hand, followed by additional partial amputations of more fingers and knuckles in 2025. Despite his fighting spirit, the infections and underlying health issues eventually caused his body to tire.

On the day of his passing, Lynn's parents, sister-in-law, and nephews shared their goodbyes, and he was lovingly accompanied by his brother as he entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior. We take comfort in knowing Lynn is now whole, healthy, and likely riding horses with his dogs alongside or sharing laughs with his grandparents once again.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no formal funeral or ceremony. Lynn's ashes will be spread by his family on their land north of Lehr. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support throughout Lynn's many health battles over the years and since his passing.
