Lucille "Lucy" Florence Schloss, age 74 unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday evening, July 25th, 2017 at her home in Napoleon, North Dakota.

Lucy was born on November 27, 1942 to her parents Margaret (Zent) and Anton Muth.  She grew up in Dickinson, ND where she attended St. Joseph's Grade School, Dickinson High School and the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD.

Lucy married Arthur J. Schloss (Art) on October 11, 1965.  Once married, Art and Lucy moved to Hazen, ND where Lora and Mary Beth were born; then on to Jamestown, ND.  Soon thereafter, having heard of a need for an electrician in Napoleon, ND, the family moved to Napoleon and never looked back. Once settled in, Judy, Dean and Vicki were added to the family.

During her time in Napoleon, Lucy was the city auditor from 1989 until her retirement in 2009.  She also served at St. Philip Neri as the church secretary and retired in 2015.  As a seamstress, she took in, let out, hemmed up, altered and flat out made countless blankets, pants, suits, baptismal and bridal gowns, prom dresses and every other article of clothing you can imagine for seemingly everyone in town at one time or another.  She loved to embroider, bake, make rosaries, and stamp cards.  Lucy was active in the community and volunteered her time to many organizations. She was happiest with her family, especially the grandchildren.  She is loved by many more than just her family, and her passing will be felt by the entire community of Napoleon, ND and beyond.

Lucy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Arthur J. Schloss, five children Lora Bodin (Jon), Mary Beth Schloss, Judy Schloss (James), Dean Schloss (Katie), and Vicki Olson (Anthony), and eleven grandchildren (Gabrielle and Jacob Bodin; Ellenya, Maksym and Lucian Urzedowski; Violet, Elise, and Troy Schloss; Skylan, Rhett and Boone Olson). Lucy is also survived by her siblings Mildred Wanner, Leona Rosenberger, and Willard Muth and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Margaret Muth.  Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND entrusted with arrangements.
