Obituary

Lucille Just, 77, of Wishek, ND, died March 24, 2025, at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at St. Luke Cemetery. Lucille Monica Just was born September 20, 1947, in Bismarck, ND to Jacob and Monica (Horner) Kelsch. She grew up on a farm west of Linton, ND and graduated from St. Anthony High School in Linton in 1965. She met the love of her life, Garold Just, at a dance in Strasburg and they where married on December 29, 1966, in Linton at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Together they lived in Wishek where they raised their four children: DeAnna, Kelly, Todd and Shawn. Lucille had various jobs throughout the years, she worked as a cook at the Wishek Hospital, Wishek Living Center, Wishek Senior Center and Cinema Buns and Bakery.  She and Garold owned the Lariat Lounge for 14 years and managed the Prairie Winds Restaurant. Most of all she was an amazing housewife that took care of her family making sure the house was spotless and there was always good food on the table.

Lucille enjoyed reading, especially historical books, she loved learning about her family history, talking on the phone with her sisters (constantly!!) and spending time with her family.  She expressed her love through cooking for her family and friends. Another one of her loves were her puppy dogs.

Lucille is survived by her husband of 58 years, Garold Just, Wishek; four children, DeAnna (Michael) Staley, Rota, Spain; Kelly (Mary) Just, Stuttgart, Germany, Todd (Kim) Just, St. Charles, MO and Shawn (Gwendy) Just, Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, with another one coming in July,  five sisters, Theresa Tschosik, Nellie Schumacher, Mary Ann (Tom) Baumgartner, Phyllis Rosendahl and Cathy (Dan) Imdieke; three brothers, Nick (Frances) Kelsch, Jerome Kelsch and Richard (Mary) Kelsch; sister-in-law, Linda Kelsch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Janice Schmidt, Betty (Larry) Boushey, Jessie (Joell) Just and Ricky (Karen) Just.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Monica Kelsch, father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Eva Just; brother, Ray Kelsch, sister-in-law Evelyn Kelsch; and brothers-in-law, Alvin Tschosik, Ron Schumacher, Duke Rosendahl, Delmar Just and Dennis Johnson.
