Obituary

Our precious mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend Lucille L Anderson went to be with Jesus on September 25, 2025 at the age of 94. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10:30 am at Kulm Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 starting at 6:00 pm with a prayer service to follow at 6:30 pm at Kulm Assembly of God Church. Burial will be held at the Kulm Assembly of God Cemetery. A livestream of Lucille's funeral service will be available at www.kulmagchurch.com.

Lucille was born on March 31, 1931 to Nathaniel and Lydia Roloff in Roloff Township south of Kulm, ND. She attended country school through 8th grade and then went to Kulm High School, graduating in 1948.

Lucille was one of the first Germans to cross the line from south of Kulm to north of Kulm when she married Eugene Anderson in 1949.  They had five children: Kaye, Curtis, Sybil, Harlan and Doreen. They farmed until retiring and moving into Kulm in 1996.

Lucille was known, by her grandchildren and friends, for making carrot bars and even made a pan for church the day before her passing.  She made doilies, quilts and did embroidery.  She learned to enjoy sports from Eugene and played croquet in recent weeks.  She kept a daily diary for the last 40 years. She adapted to technology, using the computer and cell phone.

In December, 1954 Lucille accepted Jesus as her savior and served faithfully with deep love and trust.  Lucille and Eugene attended Kulm Assembly of God Church where she served as Women's Ministry President and as Secretary/Treasurer. She sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.  She and Eugene were janitors at the church for 13 years and at the Kulm Golf Course for 14 years. She did Senior Meal Delivery for over 20 years.

Lucille was a woman of prayer, ready to pray for any need, even in a phone call. She and Eugene prayed together for family, friends and concerns for many years.  Lucille was good at keeping up with family, wanting to know how they were doing and what was happening in their lives.

Survivors include her children Kaye (John) Burich, Curtis (Joy) Anderson, Sybil (Steve) Anderson, Doreen (Paul) Wibbels and daughter-in-law (Laurie) Anderson; her grandchildren Nathan (Mandy), Samuel (Shanna), Jason (Jen), Seth (Kalin), Simon (fiancée Nikki), Katie and Josh; great grandchildren Quinton, Jackson, Max, Braelyn, Audrey, Addie, Blakely, Rayna, Brayah, Riggs and Kashton; her sister-in-laws June, Joyce and Arla; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; her parents; her brothers Clarence, Lee, Howard and Raymond: sisters Edna, Leah and Selma; and her son, Harlan.

Memorials may be directed to Kulm Assembly of God Church Youth Ministry.
