The funeral for Lois I. Scherr, Napoleon, ND will be Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, ND. Burial will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon, ND.


Lois Foster, daughter of Conner and Nancy (Cooper) Foster was born February 18, 1936 at Estelline, SD. She moved with her family to Napoleon, ND where she grew up and attended school graduating from Napoleon High School. Alvin Scherr noticed Lois one day while he was riding horse and asked his sister for help to line up a date with Lois. Lois married Alvin on April 18, 1956 at Napoleon, ND. They built their home and owned Scherr and Sons Construction. They retired in 1998. Family was very important to Lois. She loved spending time with her boys and families. Lois loved to walk, walking 4 miles every day. She enjoyed having coffee with her friends at Napoleon Floral. Lois was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at Napoleon.


Lois died Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center at Bismarck, ND. She was 76 years old.

Lois is survived by her husband, Alvin, Napoleon, ND; 4 sons, David (Lucy) Scherr, Colorado Springs, CO; Wayne (Candy) Scherr, Wagner, SD; Kyle (Shellee) Westminster, CO; Rick (Doreen) Scherr, Great Falls, MT; 3 brothers, Donald (Kenney) Foster, Mesa, AZ; Bob (Kathy) Foster, St. Paul, MN; Glen (Carol) Foster, Arlington, TX; 5 sisters, Cecelia (Art) Christenson, Forreston, MN; Joy (Jerry) Brunner, Tulsa, OK; Janice (Ed) Kramer, Cramer, MN; Linda (Ken) Lutz, Hugo, MN; Karen (Ted) Schmidt, Afton, MN; 12 grandchildren, Kelly (Wade) Morin, Paulette (Mike) Corvairt, Kaylani Scherr, Alvin Scherr, Trevor Scherr, Tresa (Marty) Nygren, Tristen Scherr, Kyla (Toby) Shevlin, Kevin Scherr, Kelsea Scherr, Christopher Scherr and Jessica Scherr; 8 great-grandchildren, Cole Morin, Wrea Morin, Cora Morin, Leah Scherr, Tarek Scherr, Nolan Nygren, Mason Nygren and Tyla Scherr.
