Obituary

Leo Ibach, 97, of Napoleon, ND, passed away November 3, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck, ND, with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 9, 2020, at 10:30 AM, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 8, from 5-7 PM with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will be held in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Napoleon. A live stream of Leo's Funeral Service will be available on the St. Philip Neri Facebook and YouTube pages. Due to COVID-19 CDC guidelines the family asks that everyone in attendance please wear a mask.

Leo was born on January 8, 1923 to Mike and Magdalena (Feist) Ibach.  He grew up with his brother and 4 sisters on a farm near Kintyre.  Leo attended rural grade school.

Leo was drafted into the United States Army in February 1945 and served his country until December, 1946.  On February 3, 1947 Leo married Anna Marie Becker at St. Anthony Catholic Church in rural Napoleon.  Leo and Anna Marie lived on a farm West of Burnstad, and Leo worked at the Burnstad Elevator from 1958-1985.  After retiring from the elevator, Leo enjoyed doing farm work for his friends and neighbors.  In 2003, after over 50 years living on the farm, Leo moved to Napoleon.  In 2008 he entered the Napoleon Care Center.

Leo was a member of St. Philips Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dancing.

Leo is survived by his brothers-in-law, Leo Becker, Anton (Marvie) Becker, and Leonard (Carole) Becker; sisters-in-law, Frances Becker, Tillie Becker, Lavata Becker, Helen Schumacher, Betty Schumacher, and Alice (Jerry) Regner; friend, Ann Hellmuth; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie; his parents, Mike and Magdalena; his siblings and their spouses.
