Leo Buchholz, 91, of Wishek ND passed away on August 21, 2023 at the Wishek Living Center, Wishek, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Lehr Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Feist Funeral Home, Wishek. A burial will be held at the Lehr Cemetery.

Leo was born on the Buchholz family farm outside of Lehr on October 21, 1931. He was the first born of Emanual and Lydia (Schweigert) Buchholz. Leo married Diana Diede and together they had five children. After their divorce, later on in life Leo met Prudence Hutchison and they were married July 29, 1979 in St. Paul, MN.

Leo's work history throughout his life included training thoroughbred horses for Goebel's in North Dakota and then moved to Cottage Grove Minnesota and worked for Alvin Goebel farming. He then worked at Harris Pine Mill, Hutchinson Minnesota. He moved to Coleman Wisconsin, and he worked at the Friday Canning Company. When he retired, he moved back to North Dakota and worked at the Lehr gas station and mowed lawns for Lehr residents.

Leo enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Leo is survived by his wife Prudence Buchholz, Wishek, five children, Dale (Vicky), Buchholz Lincoln, NE, Dallas (Jeannie), Buchholz, Cambria, WI, Dennis Buchholz, Oconto Falls, WI, Don (Diana) Buchholz, Mayer, AZ and LeAnn (Shane) Pick, Billings, MT; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Buchholz, Lehr, Rodney (Ardella) Buchholz, Fargo, Darrel (Violet), Buchholz, Lehr; Sister, Betty Hjelmhaug, Jamestown; sisters-in-law, Shirley Buchholz, Bismarck and Marlene Buchholz, Elk River, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Laurence Buchholz, and Jerry Buchholz; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Kenneth Klettke; and one sister-in-law, Arlene Buchholz.
